I just got done briefly catching a glimpse of CNN's Late Edition.   Gloria Bolger, the CNN Analyst, basically repeated the McCain Campaign's Line in noting that Senator Obama should not be shown running for the President of Europe.    Also, Secretary Rice was interviewed "responding" to Senator Obama's plan.    She noted that the restrictions on operations of Foreign Troops are something that in a nutshell must be respected.   The problem is that forces the United States to bear the brunt of the battle.   What is bothersome to me is that we took our eye off Afghanistan to invade Iraq and now we have a bigger problem in Afghanistan.    If the Taliban make it (and that is a big if), then some of the states of the former Soviet Union are also susceptible as well.   There is also the restive Chinese Muslims which continue to be ruthlessly suppressed by the Chinese central authorities.    The Russians will probably pull another Chechnya.     So, the implications of losing in Afghanistan are far worst.

As for Iraq, let's see what happens.   The Sunnis are rejoining the government.   The violence seems to be tapering off.    But, I take my queue from the work of Nir Rosen and others when they note that there is no one else to kill.   Ethnic cleansing has already by in large occurred.   There are two keys to Iraq:  Kirkuk in the North and Basra in the South.   I will be discussing the faith of these two cities as I continue to talk about Iraq.

Lastly, of course, there is the issue of coverage.   In my morning review, I just noted how CNN's front page had buried the story.   I also noted how "critical" the CNN analyst was.    I want to remind all that when Senator McCain went to South America, he was "briefed" by The Colombians on the rescue mission and Joe Lieberman spoke his infamous note that it was because "they trusted Senator McCain.".    This kind of rhetoric is as President Bush likes to cal it, "Politics".  If it is OK for you, it is not a problem.  But what is ok for you is not necessarily so for others.    This is hypocracy at its' best.
