Take Back South Florida

Published: Feb 28, 2008 8:20 PM

South Florida has a problem. This overwhelmingly Democratic stronghold that delivers a significant margin of victory for the Democratic Presidential nominee every four years is represented in Congress by reactionary, right-wing Bush-Republicans.

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart in FL-25 is one of the worst. He voted against expanding the Children's Health Plan to cover 10 million kids -- three times. He voted to grant immunity to telecommunication companies who spied on Americans. He supports the President's warrantless wiretapping and wants the government to read your emails and listen to your phone calls. And of course, he voted for the war and every single bill to fund or expand it.

Today, Democrat Joe Garcia joins the DFA-List and DFA members are already the boots on the ground working to make sure Joe wins. Back up their hard work with the power of our national community calling for change. Contribute $20.08 right now.

For 20 years, Joe Garcia has been a leader on the issues that affect the lives of real people. Joe understands that health care needs to be reliable, available and affordable. He supports expanding coverage to 10 million children immediately and will fight to bring health care to all Americans.

Joe will fight to end to the War in Iraq responsibly and bring our brave men and women home. He will strengthen the middle class by bringing new jobs to Florida and making college affordable. He will clean up the environment and protect the Florida everglades from big business polluters and reckless development.

A powerful voice for change, Joe has served as the Director of the New Democrat Network's Hispanic Strategy Center since 2004. He delivered our message and fought for Democrat values on Spanish language radio and T.V. in some of the toughest right-wing markets across America. Joe will not back down on values when under attack from Republican extremists.

His opponent is a member of the conservative Republican Study Committee. The group regularly touts the fact that its members have gone on to positions of leadership, such as Vice President Cheney and former House Majority Leader and now indicted Tom DeLay.  That's not the kind of leadership South Florida needs.

Let's take Joe Garcia over the top. Contribute $20.08 right now:
