A little about me

I've been blogging since 2004, and consider myself the fiercest advocate of the small indy blogger. I manage Mike's Blog Round Up for Crooks and LIars. My fiance Driftglass and I podcast weekly as The Professional Left (on i-Tunes or free player at our blogs)

I would describe myself as a

blogger

Why I deserve a Netroots Nation Scholarship

I've worked harder than anyone I know to encourage small bloggers to make their voice heard. No one's blog is too small. I'm also a master of every blog tool out there; podcasting, photoshop, tweet, chat, video, audio, etc. It's really about evangelism, sharing my energy and talent to promote progressive issues with great enthusiasm and a keep the faith attitude!

I manage these blogs

The blogs I use most are

Crooks and Liars

What first inspired me to get involved

I started blogging as a way to discipline my writing, and immediately found a home in the progressive blogosphere. George W. Bush had just been re-elected. We had and have work to do!

How I've gotten others involved

Wow. I run the annual blogswarm every Easter called "Blog against Theocracy." I write small bloggers to encourage them to post regularly. I manage Mike's Blog Round Up for Crooks and Liars, and I podcast weekly to give fellow bloggers vocabulary to promote progressive ideals.

The blog post I am most proud of

Why I think participation in the blogosphere is important

It builds community! People working together make a greater voice and a greater difference.

More about my volunteer work

I write daily for Crooks and Liars.

My Twitter manifesto on online activism

Since I started blogging in 2004, online activism has exploded to the point where no one, in Congress or the media, can ignore us. Period.

My suggested bumper sticker slogan

Theocracy is Satan's way of distracting Christians from their own sins.

My idea for a cool new online action

Everybody grab a quote from Leviticus and challenge your GOP congresscritter to deny its validity to modern life.
