Recently I've begin to worry about how the Tea Party activists an some Conservative Republicans have used the Muslim community as political punching bags and as a wedge issue, I want to be at Netroots Nation to make sure they don't succeed!

What first inspired me to get involved

Seeing the need to be involved on campus and speak out about what Muslims stood for and what they didnt stand for.

How I've gotten others involved

Through my blog, through presentations and workshops in the community and most recently through a YouTube video titled "Hate Comes to Orange County" which depicts some of the worst anti-Muslim and bigoted images and speech recorded. Glenn Greenwald wrote a piece and John Stewart showed clips of it during his shows segment on the Congressional hearing on Radicalization of Muslims.

Why I think participation in the blogosphere is important

It gives power to people, an ability to have idea's heard and implemented that are outside of the mainstream political discourse. Its the ultimate form of participation.
