Gov. Howard Dean Participates in "Computer Ate My Vote" National Day of Action

URGES ELECTED OFFICIALS TO ADOPT VOTING SYSTEMS THAT PRODUCE PAPER TRAILS BY NOVEMBER

BURLINGTON, VT - Gov. Howard Dean, founder and honorary chair of Democracy for America, will participate in a telephone press conference July 13th at 2 p.m. EDT, as part of the "Computer Ate My Vote" National Day of Action. Tomorrow, participants in 18 states will deliver nearly a quarter million petition signatures to state election officials, urging them to sign a "Pledge of Ballot Integrity." The pledge commits the signatories to use their authority to ensure the integrity of voting in their state by requiring computerized voting machines to produce paper records.
