Keynotes Eight Fundraising Events for DSCC and DCCC

BURLINGTON, VT—Gov. Dean will be the keynote speaker at eight grassroots, low dollar fundraising events for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) this fall. The donation to attend each general reception event is expected to be $100.

"In order to ensure that Democrats win back both houses of Congress again, we must encourage everyone to participate in the electoral process," said Dean. "The issues facing our country today make this the most important election in my lifetime and we must do what we can to ensure that Democrats running at every level get elected all over the country. In this election, every volunteer and every vote makes a tremendous difference."

Listed below are the 2004 events:

August 31: DCCC - Seattle
September 13: DSCC - Chicago
September 18: DCCC - Philadelphia
September 19: DCCC - San Jose, Calif
DCCC - San Francisco
September 27: DSCC - Washington, DC
October 3: DSCC - Los Angeles
October 4: DSCC - New York City

Dean's influence with small dollar donors began during his presidential campaign when the average donation was $77 per person. His success continues with his political action committee, Democracy for America (www.democracyforamerica.com) - he raised $1.275 million during the first quarter of its existence, with the average donation of $90 per person.

Dean is currently founder and honorary chair of Democracy for America, which is dedicated to building a grassroots network that supports socially progressive and fiscally responsible candidates at all levels of government. DFA has endorsed close to 100 candidates and Dean is currently traveling throughout the country to campaign and fundraise for many of them.
