Candidate for Bethel Board of Education

BURLINGTON, VT -- Today, Democracy for America (DFA) endorsed David A. Stevenson for the Bethel Board of Education -- making him the newest member of the DFA-List, Candidates for America.

"Stevenson's platform of fiscal responsibility and community involvement is just what the Bethel school district needs to improve the education system," said Jim Dean, Chair of Democracy for America. "His proven leadership and dedication to bettering the lives of others through activism sets an example worth following."

David first got involved in politics through Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign where he volunteered in the streets of Connecticut and the freezing snow of New Hampshire. After the campaign ended, David continued his activism by volunteering for a vacancy on the Bethel Board of Education.

This year, he was appointed to fill the vacancy and is now running for a full-term. David is committed to fighting for fiscal responsibility and making sure all students and teachers have the resources they need to succeed. He will also work to increase parental involvement through collaborative projects in the community. The election is November 8, 2005.

Democracy for America is a political action committee dedicated to taking our country back from the special interests who dominate government today and putting it back in the hands of the people. DFA and DFA-List candidates are spreading the message that to change America, we must fight from the ground up.
