After last week's packed event schedule, this week's calendar is looking light. This will give our candidates and their supporters more opportunities to walk the neighborhoods, building the support needed to win this critical election.

Larry Hall's Neighborhood Walks, Mayor of Sullivan County

-- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

-- During the week, evenings are preferred; however, whenever it is most convenient for you to canvass would be perfect! On Saturday, we will begin walking early to mid-morning.

-- For the most part, walkers may canvass their own neighborhoods/subdivisions.

-- For walking lists, campaign t-shirts and additional information, call / e-mail Larry (354-1605 / larryhall2006@yahoo.com) or Greg Williams (943-7622 / greg.t.williams@att.net).

Kevin Mitchell's Neighborhood Walks, Sullivan County Commission (11th District)

-- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

-- For Wednesday and Friday walkers, meet Kevin around 8:30 a.m. at the Kingsport Fire Station #6, which is on Fort Henry Drive in Colonial Height near Perkins Restaurant, to obtain walking lists for downtown Kingsport. On Tuesday and Thursday, you may meet him at Kingsport's Civic Auditorium. Additionally, Kevin requests "Early Vo ter" (Civic Auditorium) poll workers, who are distributing campaign literature, also to consider handing out his literature.

-- For additional information, contact Kevin at 677-8855.

Stephenson Todd's Neighborhood Walks, General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge (District II)

-- For walking lists, campaign t-shirts and additional information, call / e-mail 246-9599 / stodd@tdlaw.com

For information on additional Democratic candidate races with opposition, Richard M. Henry (Circuit Court Clerk), Jeannie F. Gammon (County Clerk), John R. LeSueur, Jr. (Commissioner of Highways), Ronald J. Beck (Circuit Court Judge, District II), and J. Klyne Lauderback (General Sessions Judge, District I), who may also need your assistance, call the Sullivan County Democratic Party Headquarters (136 Birch Street, Blountville) at 323-1794.

Additionally, running for County Commissioners are James "Buddy" King and Robin Smithson (Dist. II); Linda Brittenham, Garth L. Blackburn and Dennis Houser (Dist. IV); Marvin Hyatt and William (John) H. McKamey (Dist. V); Howard G. Patrick, Ronnie Craig Ramey and Michael B. Surgenor (Dist. VI); James (we know him as "Moe") E. Brotherton and Sam Jones (Dist. VII); R. Wayne McConnell (Dist. IX); and in addition to Kevin, Clyde Groseclose, Jr. (Dist. XI).

Please remember also to vote in the August 03 primary for our unopposed candidates, such as Governor Phil Bredesen and Harold Ford, Jr. (for U.S. Senate), Kevin Smith (TN House of Representatives, Dist. I), Nathan Vaughn (TN House of Representatives, Dist. II), and Bill Watson (General Sessions Judge, Dist. IV).

What an awesome list of respectable and qualified men and women! Moreover, at HQ we have printed lists of candidates, which you may take into the voting booths, and information on how to operate the new voting systems. Incidentally, in Sunday's Kingsport Times-News, a related article was published by Betsy Shine (Election Commissioner).

Meet the Candidates Party

-- Saturday, July 29

-- 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

-- Anderson Park, Bristol

Please forward this communication to all Sullivan County voters. Our candidates need and appreciate your volunteer support! Thank you...
