About Me:

I volunteered for the AL Gore campaign in 2000; the loss propelled me to become more involved in local politics to build a stronger Democratic Party. In 2002 I volunteered for Senator Max Cleland’s campaign. I also became involved with the Fulton Young Democrats in 2000 and later became Vice President of the group and was appointed as State Communications Director for the Young Democrats of Georgia by Stacy Godfrey. In early 2003 I became involved with a fledging group that later became Georgia for Dean. After Howard Dean dropped out of the Presidential race I assisted with organizing of Georgia for Democracy and served as their Treasurer for a year. I ran for the Georgia House (HD 97- Gwinnett) in 2004 and lost and was on the second Dean Dozen endorsement list by the newly formed Democracy for America. After the 2004 election losses I took a year and half off from politics, moved to Midtown, and in July was elected in the Democratic Primary as a post seat holder with the Fulton County Democratic Party.

I have organized the Atlanta DFA group to fill a void that is lacking with the Democratic Party. The Atlanta DFA group will be organized around community events and activities to provide an outlet for Democrats to become active participants in the local community. Atlanta DFA will not meet in smoky bars or restaurants to discuss/debate politics. The Atlanta DFA group will focus on community service and in the process hopefully bring other non political people to DFA.
