Former Sen. John Edwards in Atlanta Friday

Written by: Don McDaniel on Nov 14, 2006 7:20 PM EST

Former Sen. John Edwards is scheduled to appear on The Daily Show tonight. It was on the show in 2003 that Edwards announced his presidential bid.

Elizabeth Edwards in an email this week urged supporters to watch Senator Edwards on The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday, November 17th which is the same day he will make two appearances in Atlanta.

Edwards is releasing a new book, “Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives” and will be traveling the country promoting the book and donating all proceeds to charity.  If Edwards announces his 2008 presidential bid on Friday, Atlanta Democrats may have the opportunity to have their book signed the same day the announcement becomes official.

The details of the book signings are:

James Carville blasts Howard DeanJames Carville blasted Howard Dean in the New York Times "The R.N.C. did a better job than the D.N.C. this year." Carville explained that Democrats "succeeded because the party’s House and Senate campaign committees compensated for what Mr. Carville described as the shortcomings of the Democratic National Committee, allowing the party to take advantage of a wave of voter resentment directed at Republicans." "Suppose Harold Ford became chairman of the DNC? How much more money do you think we could raise? Just think of the difference it could make in one day. Now probably Harold Ford wants to stay in Tennessee. I just appointed myself his campaign manager."

Carville opposes Dean’s commitment to the 50-state strategy which will win even more elections for Democrats in the future. Please take a moment to write a letter, email, or call the DNC and support Howard Dean and the 50 state strategy the Democratic Party’s future depends on Dean’s success as Chairman.

Hillary Clinton Gears Up for 2008

Sen. Hillary Clinton appears to be gearing up for a 2008 presidential run, according to The Hill. She "is to step down soon from her position in the Democratic leadership, a move that clears the deck for her presidential run. “Clinton is also keeping her campaign offices in New York and Washington operational despite the fact that she does not face reelection for six years, and had scant opposition last Tuesday." Apparently Clinton's top donors have been told to expect a private signal as early as December.

I will also be communicating a local organizing initiative in the next several weeks in preparation for the 2008 Presidential Elections.

Democratically yours:
