DFA Training in Illinois!

I recently spoke with Henry Armitage from DFA in Burlington. He wants to encourage those of us who want to sharpen our activist skills so that we can provide better support for candidates of our choice and (Heavens!) even run for office ourselves. Please join us for the Evanston/North Shore DFA Linkup on Mon. May 8th when our guest will be Rep. Jan Schakowsky!

As some of you know, Jan was supposed to join us at our April meeting, but was unable to attend. Still, we had an outstanding meeting with Alexi Giannoulias, candidate for State Treasurer. There is ALWAYS something happening in Evanston.

Come for some political fun and conversation over a Guinness or a coke at the Celtic Knot. Jan assures us she will be in attendance unless something of major importance calls her back to Washington. As we all know, Sometimes Government Happpens.

The Evanston/North Shore DFA is proud to announce that Rep. Jan Schakowsky will be joining us at our next Linkup on Mon. April 17th at the Celtic Knot in Evanston. Please join us for a rare opportunity to meet with Rep. Schakowsky in a casual atmosphere in her hometown of Evanston. What is there to talk about? Oh, I dunno, maybe the culture of corruption in Washington? Ethics perhaps?

And if there is time remaining, perhaps we can talk about: Healthcare? The war in Iraq? The economy? Education? Immigration? Global Warming? Pollution? Surely we can think of something.

Another Reason to Attend the March 6th Linkup!

In addition to former candidate for judge, Richard Marcus, we will be joined by William Marovitz, a long time Illinois legislator and State Central Commetteman from the 9th Congressional District. Bill is Vice-Chair of the Illinois Democratic Party and has been very active in Progressive Democratic politics, as is his wife Christie Heffner. He was an early and active Dean supporter.

Bill Marovitz can be proud of writing and supporting progressive governmental reforms such as the ILL. Hate Crimes Law, the Aids Confidentiality Law, and many others

The Evanston/North Shore DFA is fast becoming a place for learning and sharing information that will help us as we work to take our country back from the right wing radicals and the culture of corruption that they have spawned.
