Long recognized for his leadership in education, health care and agriculture policy, Tom has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Loebsack for Congress campaign. He has earned a reputation for giving a voice to those too often overlooked in Washington: working families, women, people with disabilities, children, students, seniors, family farmers, and small business owners.

I have been talking with Iowans about our shared concerns and values as I tour the district on the "Walk with Dave... Be the Change" trek; concerns and values Tom Harkin fights for in the Senate. We are spreading our message of hope and opportunity throughout the 2nd District. Our campaign presents a clear alternative to the devastating policies of the Bush administration and the Republican-controlled Congress. We need affordable healthcare, good jobs and a living wage. We must re-engage with the world community to better protect Americans at home and abroad. But in order to achieve our vision for America, we need to elect a Democratic Congress - starting right here in the 2nd District of Iowa.
