The PUBLIC SQUARE (open thread)
But I also know how much I love America. I know that for more than two centuries, we have strived - at great cost and great sacrifice - to form a more perfect union; to seek, with other nations, a more hopeful world. Our allegiance has never been to any particular tribe or kingdom - indeed, every language is spoken in our country; every culture has left its imprint on ours; every point of view is expressed in our public squares. ~ Barack Obama (Citizen) in Berlin
Be as you is, not as you is not"
The thingie said I already had.
that happened to me a bunch this morning, working ok this evening and I was able to recommend. puddle said it happened to her too, but worked ok later when she retried. krezzy, man, krezzy.
- Are you going through the search link I posted or are you using to the recommend icon on this page?
By Susan Rowe on Jul 26, 2008 1:20 AM EDTi think everyone should have their own individual thread...its a basic human right...
I've got too many tabs open and need to close some, so here's a repost from the last open thread...
thanks. I think the youth issue plays into it, in inexperience bringing about major change. I can't imagine it has anything to do with our personal ages, they probably don't know most of them. I think it's the not bringing us along with the change that made me feel our blog was being taken away. I'm figuring the youth aspect is part of it, but we all learn by doing, and this is no doubt a learning experience!
As for the open threads, you're welcome :-) Just using the tools at hand. HQ is posting fewer threads these days and leaving it to us bloggers. I'd love to see the wc replaced by a regular open thread, 2-3 a day, but maybe we just need to post most of them and have Danny do the Friday night music one? Dunno, goin' with the flow for now.
adding: the recommend problem is a problem for sure. If other posts get more rec's, the open threads don't make it or can roll off. Not sure how to solve that, but have been posting on the wc where open threads are if I'm on. We'll have to see how it works.
Please give me back my eggo.
'Recent Blog Posts' & 'Recommended Blog Posts'? I've noticed that not all 'Recent Blog Posts' have also been 'Blog For America' posts' or 'Recommended Blog Posts', hope this makes sense.
Recent posts are just published posts
~ ~ ~
Recommended posts per Tim:
For a post to make it to the rec list it must
1. Have 2 or more recommendations
2. Less then 5 days old
3. not have been promoted to the front page.
(although it can be on both if it gets on the rec list first then promoted to the front page, it will remain on the rec list)
~ ~ ~
BFA posts are the front paged posts
How many recommends does it take for a post to get promoted?
- How many spams or inappropriate does it take to get the hook or lose recommends?
By Susan Rowe on Jul 26, 2008 1:57 AM EDTany Spanish translators here for the post from Ecuador?

HQ put up an open thread today, also :-)
I just posted over there about this new thread.
