Linked to groups: Philly for Change
Dear Member,Election Day is a mere 12 days away! Now is the time to give all that you can to make sure that we see Democratic victories in all of the key races in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. There's a lot of work to do, but there's also a lot of fun to be had! Below you will find just a short list of how you can get involved (and have a good time) in taking our city, state and country back!
And don't forget to RSVP for our monthly meeting on Wed, November 1st at Lucy's (please note that we are meeting November 1st; the website had originally listed that we were meeting 11/8). This will be an action meeting- please bring your cell phones at 6:30pm and help make calls to infrequent voters in Philadelphia to get out the vote for Casey! The regular meeting will begin at 7:15pm. RSVP here: www.dfalink.com/event.php?id=143...
And now onto the fun:
1. HALLOWEEN FUN!
"Santorum Scares Me Halloween Cabaret"
Sat, 10/28 9pm
Fringe Cabaret Space, 829-51 N American St
$10 suggested donation, free with costume!
Who's the scariest ghoul of them all? Why of course it's our own junior senator, Rick Santorum! Come out for a great variety show of music, dance, skits and more. Enjoy complimentary beer from Yards Brewery and find out about how you can help defeat Rick Santorum. For more info, and to RSVP, go to www.philadelphiansagainstsantoru...
On Halloween night, Tues 10/31, Philly for Change and Philadelphians Against Santorum will be doing a bar crawl in Northern Liberties helping to get out the vote for Casey. If you would like to join us, just reply to this email with your phone number. You can get more ideas for Halloween, like anti-Santorum stickers to adhere to the candy you give trick-or-treaters or flyers to hand out when you are taking your kids around the neighborhood. For all kinds of goodies, check out www.philadelphiansagainstsantoru...
2. Canvass to take back the State House.
Sat, 10/28
Destination: Montgomery County
Join PFC-endorsed candidate Rick Taylor on the streets in MontCo and help make sure we take back the State House on November 7th! Contact Hannah at golden.notebook@gmail.com for the schedule and more details.
3. Birthday Party for NABR (Neighbors Alligned for a Better Riverfront)
Sun, 10/29, 6-10pm
Johnny Brenda's (corner of Frankford and Girard) $10
Come Celebrate with NABR this Sunday at the very place where NABR began. The party will be a fundraiser to support NABR and Casino Free Philadelphia. There will be food and drink, an art auction, raffle of some great stuff from local shops and restaurants and live music. for more info, check out: www.nabrhood.org/2006/10/22/birt...
And don't forget that Philly for Change members are out every day of the week knocking on doors across Philly to make sure we get rid of Santorum! Join us! It's a lot of fun and you'll be helping to make sure that Santorum retires to his Virginia Home after November 7th! For the schedule go to www.philadelphiansagainstsantoru...
