So What Are the Democratic Principles, Anyway?

We have plenty to say about how much neoconservatives, religious fundamentalists, and market fundamentalists are doing to undermine our democracy.

The Tuesday Night Thinkers are launching a new project: Essays that will explain what democracy is, and why it is worth defending. We think it will be most effective if we starting by reminding our fellow Americans of the foundational principles that underlie our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

We'd like your help. Please tell us how you would answer the big questions:
What is democracy? Why is it worth defending?

The Tuesday Night Thinkers (a.k.a. Issues Advocacy Group) have already done some background work with our essays:

- What Were They Thinking when They Separated Church and State?

- Why Are We in Iraq?

You can find them in our File Uploads.

(With apologies to those recieving this who have already received it through our Meetup.com
Link
tools. Most of our members have not yet learned about DFA-Link, and we want to be sure everyone gets this query.)
