Greetings and welcome!

Written by: Andrew Kling on Aug 19, 2006 10:28 PM EDT

There's a lot at stake in this year's election. Our next state representative will be making critical decisions about health care, education, and job opportunities. That's way too important to leave to just another unqualified politician: Results matter because people matter.
As a nurse and educator Rebecca McClanahan brings practical solutions as well a vision for the future that will protect working families, seniors, and our children. Rebecca also brings a set of strong values, creative problem-solving, and a firm commitment to represent the citizens of District 2 and all Missourians.

The campaign is in full swing, and we are working hard to create a full-featured web site and blog as our central information source. We look forward to seeing you soon!

I heard Rebecca Speak Today

Impressive. Rebecca does sound like a superb candidate, and there aren't that many good progressives up here. Are there other good candidates running for local offices? I haven't moved my registration yet, so what is deadline to vote here in November? I hope I haven't missed it.

I was wondering about a couple issues I care about. First, would Rebecca be for cracking down on payday loan outfits? (They are just everywhere and prey on low-income people, and right now it's all legal). Also, what's her position on giving same-sex couples the right to marry and protecting our right to adopt?
