The Federation has several chapters throughout Georgia but is always looking for volunteers who will form new chapters in their counties or would like to join as at large members.

Turnout is LIght Your Vote can make a difference
Linked to groups: Cobb County Democracy For America
Hi MemberTurnout is light today. The polling places in North House district 32 are almost empty and reports are coming in with candidate emails saying turnout is light. So your Vote can make a difference. To double check your polling place go here:
www.sos.state.ga.us/cgi-bin/loca...
Remember we have statewide races and a contested Democratic Primary in Congressional District 13 between incumbant David Scott and Donzella James. Please look closely at David Scott's voting record before voting.

Also, the Cobb Democrats Network Clubs, our sister group has a poll. Results will only be announced at the Cobb DFA meeting at Starbucks on Town Center Mall this month.
To take the short (only 4 little questions) survey go here:

Thanks for all you do,

7/12 Debates
Linked to groups: Cobb County Democracy For America
Hi MemberI've received a lot of email telling me who won the debate tonight. Though, I respect all those who have sent out these emails. I beg to disagree. I think Georgia Democrats won the debate tonight.
This was a debate about issues and ideas and about the reality of what Georgia faces moving forward. It was also a tribute to American Democracy, because standing on that stage tonight was a Georgia Lt. Governor, a GA. SOS and a WWII veteran and an ordinary citizen who is running an issue based campaign. They treated each other as equals and in so doing "we the people" might have a better reason to take a look at the two candidates who are not frontrunners and the issues that drive them.
Whoever, GA. Democrats chose, Mark Taylor or Cathy Cox I hope they to take a second look at Separation of Church and State and Voting Rights and an appropriate Voting record for recount or verification. One thing is certain for me after watching tonight's debate, a Cox or Taylor Victory on July 18 is a Victory for Georgia Democrats.
Who do you think won the debate? Vote at
www.dfalink.com/cobbcounty...
and then put your comments on the Blog.

Urgent Urgent Vote now
Linked to groups: Cobb County Democracy For America
Hi Member,If you have not yet voted for Steve Sinton please do so Now. We are so close. If you have any friends, groups or email lists and have not already done so then please send the following message.
Fellow Democrats,
Steve Sinton, candidate for the 6th Congressional District was one of 33 congressional candidates running in one of 417
Congressional District that had at least one local DFA group to be in a national "Vote Off" The top 5 as of today at 5pm will advance to the next round.
Steve met the initial criteria. He is running against a
Republican incumbent or open seat and he is a fiscally
responsible Democrat. The other criteria was support of
grassroots as shown through the local group. Cobb Democracy For America recommended Steve highly in
it's reports back to DFA national and wrote comments to that
effect on Steve's dfalink Campaign Page.
www.dfalink.com/campaign.php?id=...
Steve made the first 33. Now he needs everyone's help to
advance. SO VOTE NOW
www.democracyforamerica.com/hous...
Then follow the results of the top 15 (He is now in the top 10)
at
www.blogforamerica.com...
After the top five advance there will be another vote off. The
winner gets a little financial contribution but also gets a
vote of confidence from one of the strongest grassroots
organizations in the country. DFA sends out info about this
candidate and their support and why to over half a million
americans.
Steve Sinton is a founder of Air America Radio and is running
in Newt Gingrich's old District. This is a really good way
to show the Republicans that Georgia is not all red and so
called "safe" seats aren't all that safe. Read about DFA A
list candidates at
www.democracyforamerica.com...
Meeting, odds and ends
Linked to groups: Cobb County Democracy For America
Hi Member,Wednesday was an eventful meeting. 7 attended the Cool Beans meeting. We had a lawyer, and two political science majors there to help in our discussion about becoming a PAC or joining Georgia For Democracy or staying the way we are.
We also discussed the new Gore film on the environment and will be sending out stuff on "Dinner and a movie" in the next couple of days. It opens next week here in Kennesaw. If you weren't with us during the 2004 election, what we did was get together and wear Democratic stuff and have dinner and go to a movie with political tones (Fahrenheit 911 for example) then stand and let people approach and give out buttons or stickers. I will have Democratic stickers available. This builds interest and the group.
Because of the Fourth of July I have moved the monthly meeting to July 6th. Let me know if that's to soon.
Also, if you haven't already please think about putting a vote in for Steve Sinton Thank you Betty and David for sending out those emails. I think they are helping.
www.democracyforamerica.com/hous...
Also, our friends over at Georgia For Democracy/Decatur are supporting three wonderful candidates including Allan Burns who is running for Congress in the 7th Congressional District. Please look at their websites and if you would like to voice your support. The link to GFD/Decatur is
