Hi All,

I know it's been a while.  Some family health problems have kept me busy along with the Titus and Obama campaigns and victorious election. 

We still may not get on track with our regular meetings just yet but I will be keeping you posted.

Meanwhile, if you haven't signed on to an Obama House Party, please do.  There are many planned today throughout the Valley and a few in the next few eves as well.

Teresa is having one for her AD volunteers.  She had a fantastic set up for volunteers to work out of on the campaign.  It will be good to get everyone together and discuss a lot of the issues and plan some action events.  Her house meeting will focus on environmental issues.

I know it's short notice but we can use all DFA members that are available to come and support Jim Dean as we support our local candidates and early voting.  He will be at a few events tomorrow.  You'll be getting the event info from the site so please RSVP if you are going to attend.  The first is a big Canvass the Democratic Party and Coordinated Campaigns are doing at Mountain Crest Park.  Dina Titus, that Democracy For America has endorsed, will be speaking and will introduce Jim Dean.  Then there will be a big canvass and BBQ.  Here is the actual flyer from NSDP;

Hi DFA Members;
DFA has endorsed another great Progressive Candidate right here in NV., our own favorite, Dina Titus, running for CD3. I know most of you are already working on her campaign and/or the coordinated Obama/Biden ticket.

With the DFA endorsement comes a contribution to her campaign. So you see, when you give to DFA, you are ultimately helping your candidates get elected as well as Progressive candidates throughout the country, which we need in our Congress.

Please join me and Teresa Crawford Tuesday, October 7th at the Titus Campaign office on Sunset to present her with a check and let her know Las Vegas, Henderson and Democracy For America Nationwide is happy to endorse her.

The proposed Ely Energy Complex is an economic, eco-system and public health disaster. It would make Nevada the largest emitter of greenhouse gasses in the West. I'm looking forward to this event and hope to see many activists there.

It's very important for everyone across the country to get informed about renewable energy.  Doing so can reduce pollution, create jobs, GREEN jobs, and in turn help to stop Global Warming, while contributing to our economy.  So there are too many beneficial reasons not to.  For those of us here in Nevada it is especially important having all the resourses here to create energy for the whole USA!

Let's get informed, add some revenue to our famous Strip and go see a movie!

Our great DFA friend Lydia Ball has set up a movie to help us do just that at the Paris Hotel this coming Tuesday night.  I do hope you can make it.  Please RSVP below and get in the habit of doing so for events.  People put a lot of time and effort into having these events for us and it's important that they have an idea of who or how many will show.  Contact me if you live in Henderson and need a ride.

Jefferson Jackson Table Anyone?

WIth the Clark County Jefferson Jackson Dinner less than a month away, I'd like to find out who is interested in going.

We'd like to be able to get good seats and have a Democracy For America presence there.  If you are interested in going and would like to be a part of the Las Vegas and Henderson NV Democracy for America tables, please call or email me, Karen, at 702-510-5110 or Kkayela@aol.com.  We hope to have 10 people within the week so we can get the table reserved and tickets ordered.

If we have more than one table so much the better! 

Remember, it is the most important Democratic Fundraiser we have out here.  The tickets are $125.00 per person.  This year it will be at the Paris Hotel and the special guest will be Robert Kennedy Jr.  He is one of my very favorites in the political world and wrote such an excellent book, Crimes Against Nature, just before the '04 election.  Then he did such a great job in the Rolling Stone article on the voting irregularities after that election.  It will be an exciting night for sure.

It is on Saturday night, September 13th at 6:00 p.m., dinner will start at 7:00.
