Hello Philly for Change.

I want you to think about something.

I want you to think about how you would feel if your best friend - the person you respect and love the most - the smartest most sarcastic person you know - turned to you and said, you know, I am thinking about running for office.

OF COURSE, you'd say.
ABSOLUTELY, you'd say.
THANK GOD you'd say.
PEOPLE LIKE YOU
ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE RUNNING FOR OFFICE!

...Well - you know what?
That's happening right now.

Anne Dicker - who joined Philly for Change 3 years ago, read all the emails, wrote the letters, went to the meetings - she is now running for state representative in Pennsylvania.

Yes! One of us! Thirty-two years old!
One of US is running for office! Against machine politicians in Philadelphia!

That is the most amazing thing that could ever happen! Anne is doing it.
That means you could, someday; she is paving the way for us. That was the whole point of what Howard Dean was trying to do.
Getting normal people in power.

Anne could actually win this, but she needs your help. She absolutely can't win this race without Philly for Change.
She's up against some VERY wealthy folks. We have to show them the power of the grassroots.

I need you to volunteer for the campaign.
Preferably THIS WEEKEND.
Any time you can give.
We need volunteers from 12-3 and 3-6, Saturday and Sunday.
We need volunteers from 6-9, Monday-Friday.
We need YOU at campaign headquarters, every day, for the next 5 weeks!
We need you to take off two weeks of work and work as hard as you can on the chance of a lifetime.
- an incumbent retiring
- a distracting machine battle
- #1 ballot position
- last night another candidate dropped out and endorsed Anne

Luck is on our side. Few political opportunities like this ever present themselves.

This race is winnable, but only if you step up.
We only have a month to knock on 1,000 doors.

So seriously. Email me, or better yet - call! 267-979-7899. I am coordinating the volunteers for her campaign and I need to see you this Saturday, or Sunday. It doesn't matter if you live in her district or not. We need you.

We are going to send Philly for Change to take a seat in Harrisburg.

We are going to do it.

But we're going to have to work together.
