Again from The Hill:
Putnam wins Policy Committee Chairman race
By Jonathan E. Kaplan and Elana Schor

Rep. Adam Putnam (R-Fla) earned a place at the House Republican leadership table Thursday after besting three of his colleagues to become the new chairman of the Policy Committee.

He defeated Reps. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.), Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), and Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.).

Putnam secured the victory on the second ballot, collecting 118 votes while McCotter won 75 and Issa attracted 22.

The tally on the first ballot was: Putnam 95; McCotter 58; Issa 40; Gingrey 24; Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) 1; and Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) 1. Shadegg and Cantor were not running for the post.

Putnam replaces Shadegg, who gave up the position when he entered the race for majority leader. He lost that race to Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio.)
