April 24th Reseach Committee Meeting Follow-up

The Research Committee held its first meeting on April 25. In attendance: Gregg, Jim, Jeremy, Sandra and Randall.

We talked about what it is we wanted to do with this committee. We talked about a lot of ideas, but came to no formal conclusions about our purpose, all in good time. We did make a few descisions though:

1. To meet regularly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00, the place will change monthly to keep it interesting.

2. Randall will be the convener of the group (that means he will send you an email a few days before the next meeting and do a short summary of what happened after each meeting which he will post here for all to see)

3. In the short term we decided to do a little research on candidates that will be speaking to our group and to create a short candidate sheet for each. We talked about possibly coming up with a template of items that we should attempt to find out about each candidate and thought it a good idea as something we should be working towards. The next full DFA meeting is this Thursday with 3 speakers, so we will see how we do (we only knew about 2 of them at the time of the research committee meeting).
