Department: Convention Planning Office

The DNC Convention Planning Office is charged with planning and production of the 2008 Democratic Convention. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide administrative support to the Director of Convention Planning, including scheduling, travel arrangements, records maintenance, office correspondence and other office management matters.

Maintain travel and expense reports and manage accounts payable items.

Assist in planning, organizing and managing special events.

Attend meetings with and/or for the Director, where appropriate.

*Note: This position may require temporary relocation to the Convention City in 2007.

Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who pays strict attention to detail, possesses sound organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Must demonstrate competency in handling several tasks, simultaneously.

Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, including proofreading and research.

Must possess exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills.

Computer literacy is a must, especially workable knowledge of spreadsheets, including the ability to work with numbers.

Bachelors Degree and at least two years of comparable work experience.
