Who Do We Vote For This Time Around?

Do you feel the same as me? That the Democratic front-runners are a less-than-stellar group of candidates, but any one of them would be infinitely better than what we have now. So, it's Hillary, Obama, Edwards.Edwards is the only one of the three front-runners who has a universal health care plan that will lead to the single-payer kind all other civilized countries have.  He is the only one who has correctly pointed out that the health insurance companies are the enemy and should not have a seat at the table.Edwards has said, point-blank, that he's going after the drug companies and the oil companies and anyone else who is messing with the American worker. The media clearly find him to be a threat, probably because of their monopolistic power, too. This is Roosevelt/Truman. And Edwards voted for the war. But he has stated quite forcefully that he was wrong. And he has remorse.  He'd have all the troops’ home in less than a year.

Steve Blythe Candidate US House FL-15

Recently, I was contacted by Jeremy L. Barlow, Esq., a volunteer Internet organizer who has created a website designed to help my campaign and other Democratic candidates for Congress running against Republican incumbents. The effort is an interesting one which hopes to raise $1 million for my campaign, as well as $1 million for each of 99 other Congressional candidates and $5 million for each of 20 Senatorial candidates challenging for seats currently held by Republicans.

Mr. Barlow's goal for the website is to build a list of 1 million small donors willing to contribute $1 to each of the Congressional candidates and $5 to each of the Senate candidates for a total of $200 from each contributor and a grand total of $200 million.

Mr. Barlow has asked for my help in making the initial launch of this site a success at generating free online publicity with several content aggregator sites which use social bookmarking to determine which sites are popular.

I ask for your help with this effort. In order to generate buzz, Congressional Revolution launches TODAY, December 15, 2007 at 2 PM Eastern time.

Support Stephen Blythe for Congress FL-15

Please go to http://www.dfalink.com/endorse_candidate.php?id=2409 and sign up to Support Stephen Blythe for Congress. It’s important that we get Dave Weldon out of the Congress. But, having watched him since he was elected, I’m convinced that it also matters who we replace him with. We don’t just need a Democrat in that seat. We need someone who’ll go to Washington and challenge a system that has left 48 million Americans uninsured, 37 million Americans in poverty, and 150,000 American troops in Iraq, fighting a war we shouldn’t have started and don’t know how to end.

We have an excellent chance in Florida Congressional district 15 to defeat Congressman Dave Weldon, Bush’s apologist for the war and spokesman for privatizing Social Security. If you live in one of the 312 precincts in FL-15, Steve Blythe needs your help to defeat Weldon. We are so close to electing a Democrat, just one more vote for every seven votes cast for Bowman in 2006 would have retired Weldon. Each one of us, spending as little as several hours each week, between now and Election Day, working together we can elect Steve. Carol Shea-Porter won in New Hampshire against a two-term incumbent because of help from DFA members. Carol won against the DCCC sponsored candidate and was elected with spending only $125,000.

We are using the DFA Academy Grassroots Campaign Training Manual as our guide with several of our volunteers having already attended this training. Our target is nearly 100,000 volunteer hours to perform the various campaign functions. These are canvassing (59%), phone banking (27%), stuffing envelopes (5%), sign waving (2%), and coordinating volunteers (7%). To prevent volunteers from spending hours traveling, FL-15 is divided into 30 geographic divisions each with about 15,000 registered voters.

Florida Congressional District 15 contains all or part of the following Zip Codes: 32901, 32902, 32903, 32904, 32905, 32906, 32907, 32908, 32909, 32910, 32911, 32920, 32922, 32923, 32924, 32925, 32926, 32931, 32932, 32934, 32935, 32937, 32940, 32941, 32948, 32950, 32951, 32951, 32952, 32953, 32954, 32955, 32976, 32958, 32960, 32961, 32962, 32963, 32966, 32967, 32968, 33837, 33848, 33896, 34711, 33897, 34739, 34741, 34743, 34744, 34746, 34747, 34758, 34759, 34769, 34771, 34772, 34773, 34972

If you live in or near one of these Zip Codes in Brevard, Indian River, Osceola, or Polk Counties, please volunteer to help Steve by signing up at www.blythe08.com or email me at chs@cfl.rr.com telling how you can help defeat Weldon.

Nancy Pelosi Must Go

Written by: Charlie Shannon on Nov 10, 2007 3:53 AM EST

The new Congress elected in November 2006, had an estimated 70% popularity with the U.S. population. Now a full year later, the estimated popularity of the Congress has fallen below 11%, a fall largely due to the role of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. For similar causes, the U.S. dollar has also fallen, that at a presently accelerating rate. This threatened ruin of the prospects of the Democratic Party which Mrs. Pelosi's misconduct has done much to produce, has now imperiled the continued existence of the original constitutional form of our republic.

At the FDP Convention banquet October 27, Saturday night banquet keynote speaker House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md) made excuses why Congress could not bring the troops home and people attending shouted “cut off the money”. Well Hoyer made a motion at Pelosi‘s behest, to table Kucinich’s privileged resolution to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. This motion was defeated with 251 against tabling to 162 in favor of tabling. 165 Republicans voted against tabling, as did 86 Democrats.

Unless the Democratic Congress can improve its action, there will be a situation where former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, could be elected President by default, in 2008. This in turn will set up a fascist type government ruled by a select few controlled by a mass indoctrination of fear of terrorist (similar to Hitler’s Germany).

It is up to all of us to prevent this from happening by taking an active role in electing Democrats, including a Democrat for President. With a Congress like we have no wonder we can’t get Democrats out to vote and many others are changing to no party affiliated.

Steve Blythe is running for Congress in FL-15. It’s important that we get Dave Weldon out of the Congress. But, it’s also matters who we replace him with.

Starting now we will win in 2008

Written by: Charlie Shannon on Nov 16, 2006 8:15 AM EST

Linked to groups: Brevard Workers for Democracy

Our November 2006 election gave us information on how to elect Democrats from Brevard County.

We failed to elect a Governor, Attorney General and Congressmen in 2006 because we failed to get enough votes for our Democratic candidates.

We would have a Democrat Congressman with 12% more votes, one in eight.  We would now have Governor Jim Davis with 11% more votes, one in nine.

We can correct this and Get Out The Vote to elect Democrats to Congress and a President in 2008 by recruiting 3,500 block leaders.  Each leader gets to know 40 Democrats living in their street, apartment or condo and be willing to spend only 15 minutes every week in contacting these neighbors.

Working together we will start electing Democrats to office at all levels of government.  For more information e-mail me or phone (321) 453-1008.
