John Laesch: Immigration Town Hall Meeting

Written by: Steve Aldrich on Aug 4, 2006 12:00 PM EDT

Please come to our Town Hall Meeting on Immigration

Immigration Town Hall Meeting
Tuesday, August 8th
5:30-8:30 P.M.
Geneva Public Library
127 James St.
Geneva, IL 60134

(you may RSVP here: www.dfalink.com/event.php?id=111...)

As you know, we challenged Dennis Hastert to a debate on immigration and he is still ducking the challenge. He does not want to answer tough questions that concern his own district.

In the 2006 election cycle, the Republicans are going to continue to try to define the debate by talking about "border security." Hastert is willing to talk about border security all around the country, but he is unwilling face his own constituents or work in a joint sesion to adopt a comprehensive immigration bill. The many who ignored border security both before and after the tragic events of 9/11, suddenly wants to be seen as the national poster boy for border security.

Even though Denny is still dodging the debate, we are going forward with this Town Hall Meeting to discuss immigration. It is an important issue for the people of our district. As your next Congressman, I want to clearly demonstrate to voters that I will listen to all sides on any issue.

Please attend the event on August 8th and share this e-mail with others who want open and honest government.

Respectfully,
John Laesch
Democratic Candidate for U.S. Congress
