MallWart in the news

Written by: JIM SHINGLETON on Oct 28, 2005 12:39 PM EDT

Last evening I attended the Springfield Township (Mercer County) Zoning/Development Hearing deciding the legality of a zone change to accomodate the construction of a new Super MallWart on rte. 208 near the Outlet Mall. Mercer County Citizens For Responsible Development which had opposed this development due to its community destructive nature in all other communities it has ever touched was sadly the loser. The recently revitalized communities of Slippery Rock, Mercer, Volant and others are sure to be the big losers here.
Robert Trakofler has been gracious enough to provide the venue of his establishment to view the film The High Cost Of Low Price and I'd so encourage all of us to make every attempt to take advantage of this opportunity.
MallWart has developed a science of gobbling small communities. I feel it is our responsibility to combat their attempts at each and every turn. This is the definition of Activism Water Cooler talk my friends. If they experience diminished customer levels they just may get a clue. Please join us and thanks for the welcome to your fine group.
