Martha's Friend to Friend campaign

Written by: Bob Bartell on Feb 22, 2006 6:26 AM EST

Hello all,

This is my first post. Wish me Luck.

Martha Mills is in the final stage of a campaign that she could not have run as effectively if she hadn't been adopted by Edgewater/Rogers Park DFA. The campaign collected over 16,000 signatures, countywide, in a race that had a 3,500 signature minimum, with only real grassroots petition help. She's now been endorsed by IVI-IPO, Jesse Jackson, Jr., several independent Ward and Township Dem organizations and elected officials and has been found as highly Qualified as possible by every bar rating lawyers group in the area (see website for the latest). Link While there are still media, mail and election day campaigns to run, probably the most important type still needs your help.

A so-called "Friend-of-Friend", or viral campaign is the most effective way for a 'down-ballot', (actually, this year, literally, back of the ballot. You'll see.) less hyped race to get it's message out. With the other innovation this year, early voting, happening soon, it is a crucial time to start raising Martha's campaign visibility for potential voters.

Shortly, we will have "Friend-of-Friend" cards available. These cards will have bio and endorsement info about Martha, and can be mailed to all of your friends in Cook County who care about a strong, compassioniate judiciary, and prefer to get their mail from the friendly neighborhood mailman. We also have an e-mail version for those friends of yours who worry about the friendly neighborhood mailmans' workload. We ask you to address them to friends who care about good judges and either mail them yourself, or get them back to us to have the campaign pay for the postage, if you prefer. Voters are often thankful to get any info about these 'down-ballot' races, especially when it is suggested by knowlegeable sources such as yourself.

Contact me through the website and we'll get you whatever materials you need ASAP. (For those that took the cards @ the meeting, remeber, card postage is $.24, not $.29. Also, we'll be happy to pay for postage)

Thanks in advance for your help, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
