Primaries and Precinct Conventions.

Written by: Crispin Reedy on Feb 16, 2006 6:25 PM EST

For everyone who couldn't make it to last night's meeting, David Pattillo gave us lots of very useful details about the convention process. Here's a short summary:

This year the Texas Democratic Party will be choosing a new chair at the State Convention at Fort Worth.

DFA-Dallas would like to make sure we are represented when the TDP makes that choice. To that end, you need to make plans now! If you can, we want YOU to

1) Go to your Precinct Convention on primary day, (March 7) and
2) While you are there, get elected as a representative to the next level, which is the Senatorial or County Convention. (March 25)
3) AND, from there, get elected as a representative to the State Convention. (June 9-11)

If you can't make that kind of a time committment we want you to at least attend your Precinct Convention and elect someone who represents you and make sure that person knows what your views are.

The first step is the Precinct Convention, which will be held on primary election day, at 7:15 p.m. in the evening, at the place where you voted that day.
