Time to activate this group!

Dear Bloggers United members

This DFA-link group has been pretty inactive for its entire existence.

Election time is upon us and I think it's time to ramp it up. I've done a recent series of essays on local blogging and am getting responses from local bloggers and activists around the country.

One common theme I hear back is: "I need comments and allies" "I need people to even realize that this race/candidate exists"

I think that's why this group exists. I'm going to invite every one of these folks to join Bloggers United, and I'd like to ask you all to do me a favor. Let's make this this group focused on one thing: doing whatever we can to empower local bloggers to play their role in defeating the GOP in 2006.

For now, that means two things.

1. I'd like to ask all of you to invite a local blogger to join this group by: a) inviting them to join DFA-link and then b) inviting them to join Bloggers United. You can do this from this DFA-link page:

2. For now, I'd like to ask you to find a local blog near you using this list

And make a comment on that blog. Even if it's just a supportive: "nice job" or "interesting article." As fellow bloggers, it's the least we can do.
