January Meeting Followup

Linked to groups: Elmbrook Progressive Coalition

A couple of things coming out of the January Meeting.

First of all, a great "Thank You" to Dr. Barbara Horner-Ibler for her presentation on the work of Bread of Healing Free Clinic in downtown Milwaukee.  I think if we had universal healthcare, Barbara would be out of a job, but I'm pretty sure she could live with that!

Second, we need to raise funds to continue our outreach and mailing -- we have the names and addresses of 300 liberal-leaning folks in the area and we need to make contact with them, in addition to sending postcards to our mailing list.  To that end, I've offered to prepare your taxes this year in return for a $100 donation to the Elmbrook Progressive Coalition.  I do this for a living, so you can rest assured that your taxes will be done correctly and professionally.

Finally, I'm looking for your suggestions for future meetings.  We can invite local elected officials (but we have very few Democrats in Waukesha County) or we could have topical speakers (League of Conservation Voters is coming in February) or we could screen films ("An Inconvenient Truth" et. al.).  A mix of all three, perhaps?  You tell me!

 See you in February!
