Hi Member,

Wow, 16 days to go and I find myself wishing that the election were tomorrow. That is 16 news cycles where a lot can happen between now and then.

The big event this coming weekend will be canvassing in La Porte. There have been plans made for a few weeks now to have a large group come in to La Porte this weekend from Indiana Progressives, pretty much folks from Indy and Bloomington, to help out with Joe Donnelly's and Andrea Renner's campaigns. The 2 campaigns are linked in that Joe's field director for La Porte County is also Andrea's campaign manager. I am hoping that we can get 4 or 5 people out there on Saturday to join in the fun. I will be sending out invites later tonight or tomorrow. Are you in?

Of course there are some that would like to stay local and that is great since there is plenty to do here. I may be mistaken but I believe that Karen in Lansing still has quite a few numbers to call from the Donnelly phone bank and our local candidates will be out as well. More on that as it becomes available.

It seems that the Repubs have kicked in their ground game here in Lake County. It is quite fascinating how simple, effective, and different it is from ours. They rely on social networks, churches, and micro-targeting, which is the application of consumer data in the poitical realm, while we drag our butts up and down the every street knocking every door. I'm still sore from yesterday...too many steps on those front porches (I hear that Whiting is the worst for that). I've heard that Move On is trying some things with micro targeting so it will be intersting to hear how that works out.

So I hope to see you out at a campaign event soon. Thanks for everything that you are doing. Hang in there. Keep fighting.
