Take over the district Dem convention!
Reviewing the Democratic Plan of Organization, it is not clear to methat we will be electing a replacement district chair for Bruce Peterson
at the 11th distinct convention. Does anyone know if a delegate can move
to suspend the rules to elect a new district chair at an even year
district convention? the P of O is not clear on this, is Robert's Rules?
However, we will be electing members of the Council of Review, to which
I appealed the suppression of 11 resolutions at the Buncombe convention,
and State Convention Committee on Credentials and Appeals. We need
progressive candidates from this list for those offices. Again, I must
run myself if I hear of no other progressive candidates before the day of
the convention. Unless I hear otherwise, I will run for both unless I
win the first office elected.
-Alan Ditmore, with 21,318 votes in Buncombe County elections.
how about:
"move to suspend the rules to elect a new 11th district chair now" or
"Move to suspend the rules to consider the 11 resolutions blocked by the
Buncombe Resolutions Commettee now"
"Move to eliminate voice votes in favor of hand votes with nays first"
these motions could be made from the floor as soon as the meeting is
called to order
Also we must vote against any meeting rules with nays first because many
on the floor are likely to vote Aye to the rules expecting consensus
which does not exist.

Michael Morgan is now perfectly positioned to run for and win the 11th
district Democratic Party chairmanship vacated by Bruce Peterson. He has
the energy, talent, name and issue recognition from his congressional
race. Michael, if you are not satisfied with the party establishment
support for independent minded progressive candidates here is your
opportunity to BECOME THE PARTY ESTABLISHMENT AND CONTROL THAT SUPPORT!!!
Maybe this was your destiny all along. Let's all prepare for the Dem
convention on the 20th starting at today's (Wednesday's) Asheville DFA
meeting, 7pm, West Asheville Library, and the PDBC meeting, Thursday, May
11, at Montford Community Center, 7pm. HERE IS A RACE WE CAN WIN!!!
Or if Michael refuses, we could run other former candidates like Krishna
Murphy or James Latimore. LET'S GO FOR IT!! Don't make me run by doing
nothing!!!

PS this is not a public office and so should not interfere with Rolling
Thunder's nonprofit status.
