I'm going to have to step down.

Dear fellow Battle Creek DFA members:

It is with regret that I must inform all of you of my decision to step down as the moderator of this great group. There are many things going on at home, a potential move out of the area being one of them. I cannot, in all honesty, run this group and run the precinct campaign for Gov. Granholm with all of this going on.

My pain is back, which isn't helping. I know they were supposed to heal it all with the surgery last spring, but apparently my body's formed adhesions, which are becoming more painful. It's not as bad as my old pain, but it is slowing me down.

The kids need me more than ever, it seems, and I have had to neglect them for the group too much lately. As important as this election is (and it really is), my children are more important. That was driven home tonight when my daughter sat in my arms and cried over fears of my pain and my being too busy lately for much one-on-one time. They're only little once, and I can't miss this time.

I'm turning all this over to Rolf, and I will work with him so that he knows what-all is going on and how to do it. He will get all the t-shirts and buttons, etc., and he will be the one posting and e-mailing. If you have any questions about upcoming issues and meetings, please ask him.

Thank you for allowing me the chance to be a part of your lives. I will still try to do the political work I can, but with things the way they are, it will have to be on a "as possible" basis.
