About jc, from listener
As I read the below, I am reminded of when my mother died, and the family was sitting around the funeral home putting together her obiturary. Everytime we'd count paragraphs, some one would point out, that now the obit was going to cost $700, or $800, or. . . . So we'd pare a few more important things she'd done, and recalculate. Finally someone, in frustration, "Well, if we want a cheap obituary, we'd better get a new mother!"
jc's life was like that: huge and glorious, loving, active and messy. She loved much, did much, and was loved by so very many. Now listener's work:
My heart goes out to jc's beloved family following her death on Mother's Day (May13th), so soon after her 50th birthday (March 20th), and the death of her grandmother (March 31st) and mother (April 19th). I am sure that no words could possibly assuage the grief of her family and her blog family. But one thing I do know is that Judy "jc" Cadoret's profound effect in my life and the lives of so many others deserves to be recognised and honoured.
Those of us who knew Judy, through her thoughtful, truthful and timely comments expressed on several blogs, are in utter shock at news of her death. May it give everyone comfort to know that she was greatly appreciated, highly respected, and loved by people all over this nation and in other places around the world as well. Her fine graphics moved, informed and encouraged us. I hope her sister, Jan, or someone near to the family may be able to continue her fine work, and keep her excellent work viable online for purchase. Judy had an incredible ability with colour and space, and an exceptional gift in being able to put another person's view into visual form and in just a few minutes. Her compassion for others was a teaching, especially in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. She will be sorely missed.
But she will never be forgotten. Already bloggers are mulling how best to keep Judy's talent and intent viable in our community, through a special memorial to be decided on. Also, a display of her outstanding work will be a highlight of this year's national DemocracyFest to be held in Manchester, New Hampshire next month. At very least such a memorial needs to honour jc's frequent question to us, which was always her challenge to us and her encouragement of us: What have you done for Howard Dean lately? Perhaps at D-fest III, Howard Dean could speak to what might be needed of us, as the Dean Family Bloggers, in the coming year.

Judy and I were in frequent email contact in March and April, through the death of her grandmother and mother. She had made me aware of her illness, which seemed to be a virulent virus of some kind, but along with her family, I was quite surprised by her death. Perhaps she was as well.
Thanks for caring to come together through thick and thin.
We miss you tremendously, dear jc! Lovingly, listener

When Katrina struck Judy Cadoret left us on this blog for the most part, and the obviously fun sideline of our witty bumper stickers; and threw herself into immediate use of her computer skills helping Louisiana, she worked day and night. With my son in Baton Rouge and myself trying to co-ordinate modest aid, I used jc's links, and was able to observe her when every personal asset she had was on display. Judy Cadoret was an amazing woman who cared with amazing computer skills. And she put her talents into action. She gave much of herself for the common good. She was a valuable asset for the body politic, and we have suffered a great loss. We should all remember that we each have assembled skills that we can apply in the effort to take our country back, and have been given a great example. No one should find it strange that love of family drew Judy home, she had much love to give. We here were all blessed to have shared it.

Dear Tara and Sheri,
Today the blog is devastated by the sudden and unexpected death of stellar blogger "jc"~! Her father was ill recently, then her grandmother and mother died this past month, and jc herself died on the afternoon of Mother's Day! Some of us received the following message from her father today and there is much desire on the current thread that jc's death be front-paged. (She was only 50 years old~!!) As she has been a prominent and well-respected and beloved blogger, I hope you will do a fine tribute to her.
You can view her two blog graphics site through this address: http://www.blogger.com/profile/16354338049465962922
Much thanks. XOXOXXX June/listener

Hello,~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found your name in my daughter Judy's email address book and wanted to let you know that she is no longer with us.
She died early Sunday afternoon on Mothers Day and has gone to join her mother and grandmother. Although Judy had not been in good health for several years, her sudden demise was a complete shock. She had had her 50th birthday on March 20, 2007.
Judy has been cremated. We request on Judy's behalf that you remember her according to your own religion or in your own way. Your prayers and good thoughts will be appreciated.
Please relay the information to other Deaniacs you know.

Our dear jc chose not to share her illness,
refused even a condolence by mail recently when her grandmother and mother died.
She emailed with me during that time,
mentioned she wasn't well, but
gave the impression it was a flu she wasn't getting over.
I gather she had a chronic illness that
she chose at some point not to further treat.
She chose, to some extent, for her final days to be this way.
She needed her days to be off-blog
and I respect that.
But I'm so sad that there wasn't some way to help her through the illness.
Age 50 is just too young.
I do know that she got a lot of comfort reading her mother's book
of geneaology, remembrances and stories.
Prayers ensuing for her Dad, sister and brother
who have lost three women in the family in about a month.
Dogma, I love your idear for a scholarship. Did you know that jc was from the Rutland area?
Is there some way that this could be a gathered scholarship
(with a bat or some sort of collection)?
(This is still in flux...what exactly the memorial will be.)
