How to save the 2006 election for the Democrats

What if all Democrats (House of Representatives, Senators, etc. on both Federal and State Government levels) stated that Senator Kerry does not speak for them, apologize to the military profusely for his remark, and then not allow Kerry to say one more word until after the 2006 elections?  I’m afraid that we have lost our opportunity to win any seats, because the Republicans are pouncing on this.  Howard Dean, are you reading this?  Please do something!!
