"Go to Harper on the CTA"

I spent part of Saturday making phone calls for Scott Harper, the DFA endorsed Democratic candidate for Congress in IL-13.  The calls were being made out of the Palos Township Democratic Club at 8711 W 95th Street in Hickory Hills (at the NE edge of the district).  People were quite welcoming even though due to a lack of communication with Harper HQ, I arrived early and clearly interupted a strategy session the committeeman, Sam Simone, was having.  This is a seat that we have a good chance of winning in Nov

The Harper people expect to run other activities out of this office and details will be available on their website http://www.scottharperforcongress.com/.  Note that this office CAN BE REACHED without a car.  Take the Red Line south to 95St (end of the line) and then take PACE bus 381 (schedules are available at the PACE website and it runs on both Sat and Sun) to the 86th Ave or 88th (Cork) Ave stop.  From the Berwyn station, the trip each way took (I timed it) ~2 hours (half the time it takes to get to IA).
