SHAME ON YOU DFA!!!!

Written by: Drew P on Feb 25, 2008 2:16 PM EST

Is Democracy for America doing the work for the Republican National Committee now??? At a time Democracy for America should be focused on recruiting progressive candidates for offices like U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and Governor down to the State Legislature, I am subjected to this "LET THE VOTERS DECIDE" campaign against Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. I am so disappointed in Democracy for America for assuming that since I am a progressive and a member of this group then I automatically support Barack Obama.

I proudly am supporting Senator Hillary Clinton for President for the same reason many progressives are supporting her....because she can win. She has a record of accomplishment and she is NOT the choice of the backroom deals as Ilya Sheman so shadily has referred to her.

SHAME ON DEMOCRACY FOR AMERICA!

So am I to understand that the money and energy I have focused with Democracy for America is now being used as a Fifth Columnist effort against a fellow Democrat?

Do you need to be reminded that Hillary Clinton has been consistently the choice of almost equally if not more Democratic voters than Barack Obama. Also, consistently in DEMOCRATIC primaries where Republicans cannot crossover, or Caucuses where one campaign can pay to flood in their supporters, the winner has been Hillary Clinton.

Also, on the hard issues that are "litmus tests" for true blue progressives like a Woman's Right To Choose, the GLBT Community, or the Enviroment, no truer advocate or defender is there than the honorable Senator from New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Not to mention, you cannot accuse Senator Clinton of voting PRESENT on key issues, unlike Senator Barack Obama.

Yes, I support change....with a program backed up by a record of proven accomplishment.

Yes, I believe in hope....and also in the woman who with her husband and an entire administration of talent first gave us HOPE in 1992....HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON.

Democracy for America you have been an organization of change and hope but this recent campaign against a fellow progressive Democrat is shameful and treasonous to our party. Why not just send a check to Senator John McCain's campaign and get it over with!

If you continue to attack Senator Clinton you risk losing me. But I will make sure to make this a ripple effect and make sure plenty of other progressives leave with me. Quit attacking fellow Democrats and get back in the business of ELECTING Democrats!

I agree totally with Drew Pritt and I don't appreciate getting email from Marian Harris - do all the contributors know who DFA is supporting?!!  Marian did you forget that Governor Stickland is supporting Hillary Clinton?!!!!!

EVERYONE "READ MY POST" Barack has no concrete answers, HILLARY CLINTON DOES!  Watch the next debate and judge for yourself - Barack likes to talk, but, Hillary can talk the talk and definitely walk the walk!!!!

Hey Drew,

Thanks for the feedback. The Voters Decide campaign isn't about Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama. At the end of the day, if Sen. Clinton has more pledged delegates than Sen. Obama we expect all the superdelegates including Senator Obama to support her campaign, and the other way around.

This campaign is a fight for the heart and soul of the Democratic Party. Do we want a nominee chosen by over 20 million Democratic voters so far or by 800 party insiders? DFA will support the democratic nominee, but we expect him or her to be chosen by the incredible outpouring of new and old Democratic voters across the country- not beltway insiders.

DFA represents the grassroots, the 70% MAJORITY Common Populations Class and Culture, and should not in any way support any member of the corporate Republican led DLC.  Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are both members of the corporate Republican led DLC.   Hillary Clinton is actually a leader of the corporate REPUBLICAN led DLC, that she and her husband, Bill Clinton, originated.    Barack Obama is not a leader of the corporate REPUBLICAN led DLC, but became a member, hopefully not in good standing, like Hillary and Bill Clinton.

The DFA was founded by Howard Dean for the specific purpose of getting rid of the RIGHT Wing EXTREME corporate Republican led DLC wing of the Democratic Party.  Any member of the REPUBLICANS corporate led DLC should not be supported in any way by Democracy For America, as the last thing the REPUBLICAN led DLC want is democracy for the 70% MAJORITY Common Population in America.

The Democratic Party must  support Hillary Clinton because she is a member of the Democratic Party, even though she is not a member of the grassroots LEFT, but is a  good REPUBLICAN member of the RIGHT Wing of the Democratic Party,  a good COOPERATOR  with the REPUBLICANS at the expense of the 70% MAJORITY Common Population.  Hillary Clinton is more of the same, whereas Obama is NEW; and even though he is a registered member of the DLC, is not a leader of the DLC, and the 70% MAJORITY Common Population will have a better chance with Obama of getting a pittance of representation, than Hillary Clinton  who, along with her husband, are well practiced at minimizing and marginalizing the 70% MAJORITY Common Population to the REPUBLICAN PARTY'S best interest for the benefit of her NEW CLASS that minimized and marginalized the 70% MAJORITY Common Population to receive NO REPRESENTATION.

Should Hillary Clinton become the nominee for the Democratic Party, I will vote for Ralph Nader, as Ralph Nader has over the years made it very clear that he supports the 70% MAJORITY Common Population as part of the WHOLE country of the United States, instead of disenfranchising the 70% MAJORITY Common Population as Hillary and Bill Clinton have done.

Getting democracy back is a grassroots movement of the majority population.  Winning and losing is a propaganda technique used by the RIGHT.  If the 70% MAJORITY Common Population win with either Obama or Hillary, the 70% MAJORITY Common Population lose,  because as it appears right now, neither one of them represent the 70% MAJORITY Common Population, but Ralph Nader does.

Because Obama is NEW and may have joined the corporate led DLC just to see what it was, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and more than likely vote for Obama, but I must say, I am torn between Obama and Ralph Nader, because Ralph Nader will actually represent my class and culture; whereas its a toss up as to whether Obama will actually represent the 70% MAJORITY Common Populations class and culture, and one needs to stick with the democratic candidates that represents their political class and cultures democratic movement.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, like William Jefferson Clinton, represents the corporate REPUBLICAN DLC's 20% Professional NEW CLASS and CULTURE at the expense of the 70% MAJORITY Common Populations class and culture.

BTW, class means a political group of people of the same equivalence - WORKING, LAID OFF AND TRYING TO WORK, SICK AND TRYING TO GET WELL TO GO BACK TO WORK , NOT WORKING BECAUSE LOST JOB AND CAN'T FIND A JOB SO THEY CAN WORK;  and culture means what is politically passed down from generation to generation.   The 70% MAJORITY Common Population is a CLASS and CULTURE that must stick together like glue if there is ever to be DEMOCRACY FOR AMERICA., and Hillary Clinton does not in any way represent the whole body politic.

>DFA will support the democratic nominee, but we expect him or her to be chosen by the incredible outpouring of new and old Democratic voters across the country- not beltway insiders.

In Oklahoma, one of our 9 superdelegates is US Rep. Dan Boren [D-Muskogee]

If he votes with his congressional district, he will support Hillary Clinton.  She won his congressional district by 61% to 21% for Obama.

If he votes with our state, he will support Hillary Clinton.  She won our state by 55% to 31% for Obama.

If he uses his personal judgement, he could go either way.

Now DFA is asking him and others to vote with the unknown national results as of the first week of June 2008, even if they are not the same as their district, their state, or their own judgement.  This ANTI-democratic proposal has exposed DFA, DFA Executive Director Arshad Hasan, and DFA Political Director Charles Chamberlain as political fools and amateurs!

DFA has shot itself in the foot with this one!

Ilya we have a way to hold the Super Delegates accountable....it's called the Ballot Box. We do not need a concerted effort that weakens a potential Democratic nominee. To say that this effort is not Anti-Clinton is laughable at best. Why is DFA not holding Barack Obama accountable for voting PRESENT when the votes really mattered since they have battered Senator Clinton on a number of occasions.

I support DFA because I wish to see Progressives elected to office. However, I also don't want to see the Republicans win and quite frankly they know one thing we haven't yet learned and thats to not batter and destroy a potential nominee. You have to admire their sense of party loyalty.

Initially I wanted General Wesley K. Clark to run again. He didn't and honestly I was impressed with the depth of talent we had to choose from but in the end, the one true Democrat winner has been Senator Hillary Clinton and I believe this organization has taunted and belittled her first with the efforts for Kucinich/Edwards/Obama and now this underlying effort to not let Super Delegates decide the nominee.

While your at it, why not start a FAIRNESS IN THE MEDIA campaign since there has been much vetting and critiquing of Senator Clinton but hardly any critiquing or criticism of Barack Obama. This is just one progressive voice speaking but I believe many others agree with me.

Hi Drew,

It is not possible to hold super-delegates accountable at the ballot box. A significant portion of super delegates don't hold elected office. They are party fund raisers, formerly elected offcails, lawyers, as well as party appointees.

Also, DFA has held both candidates accountable nurmerous times. Including recently calling out both of them to lead a filibuster against telecom immunity.

I am very glad that you are an active and vocal member of DFA.  Thank you for your imput. Whether we agree or not, we always listen and use what we hear to develop our next steps forward.

Drew just wanted to try to get fired by 3 campaigns in one cycle.  Well four if you count his brother's aborted Congressional race.
