- There is a definite shortage of winter birds here
By Joan In Florida on Jan 9, 2010 6:22 PM ESTfor the past two years. We used to have 50 or more goldfinches, dozens of robins, thrushes and other northern birds which wintered here and most visited our feeder.
Audubon doesn't seem to be concerned as long as they collect money. I gave up on them years ago.
