The American Fairy Tale

Written by: Daniel Bickhart on May 8, 2008 11:11 AM EDT

We've all been taught, ever since we started learning about this big bad world and how it works, that if we have a problem with, or don't like how are government is operating, then we should write to our congressman and/or senator. Well, in a perfect world -- or even a business as usual world --  that may help. But in these days of wretched, power-hungry, 'me first' politicians (aka, Republicans), you might as well save your breath because they will either just ignore you or send you a repy full of political double talk platitudes. I know. I've sent many a letter, expressing one concern or discontent after another, only to receive a reply that pats me on the head and says that 'yes, he understands, and he's working on it'. HA!

That is exactly why I am backing William J. Meyers for the 4th District seat in the U S House of Representatives. He is not only very qualified because of his exemplary military service as a United States Marine and experience living overseas, but is -- and therefor represents -- the common man. He is one of the general population that you would expect to run into at the supermarket or post office and start up a conversation with. AND, he is a man of common sense, and someone with a conscience; something that is sorely lacking in Washington DC these days.

I urge you to visit his website, learn about his views on how to turn this country around and support him. If you live in the 4th district of Iowa...GREAT, please vote for him! If not, you can still get the word out and support him financially. Please check out William J. Meyers at http://meyersforhouse.com/ .
