Democratic Candidates Need to Learn Racial Tolerance!

Written by: J Wilson on Mar 31, 2008 1:33 PM EDT

Hey out there! My name is J. I'm a wannabe political pundit and perhaps a future candidate myself. I write in response to the recent racial tensions from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton campaigns. Personally, I like both candidates and will not disclose who I am voting for. That is not the purpose of this blog.  Like many democrats, I am disgusted with the racial backlash between the democratic presidential candidates-Barack Obama and Hilliary Clinton. The comments made by Rev. Wright and Geraldine whatshername make the democratic presidential race look like a riot during the 60's.  There is too much fighting and division among the candidates. On one hand, Hilliary acts like she is entitled to the presidency because of her husband-Bill Clinton. On the other hand, Obama acts like it's okay to remain a member of Rev. Wright's church. Today, I found another reason to be disgusted, the blog Is Evan Jenne Member of A White Supremacy Group? The comments state Rep. Evan Jenne made about his opponent Democratic Candidate Freda Stevens are outrageous and I do not like the blog title either. I think it is ridiculous for democrats to criticize each other based on race. The democratic party is the party that is supposed to embrace everyone: black, white, latino, gay, lesbian, straight, asian, you name it. This racial stuff as got to STOP! Last week the Florida Legislature apologized for slavery which I hope will go a long way to bringing healing to this state. All Floridians need healing from slavery-black and white. Everyone was affected by the civil rights movement-black and white. We all need to take time out and embrace other people. We need to teach tolerance to our children and that includes gay and lesbians.  So just in case anyone is reading out there-Barack supporters, Hilliary supporters, Evan Jenne supporters, or Freda Stevens supporters, stop being so hateful.  It's time to HEAL and FORGIVE. That is the only way we are going to make positive changes in this world. Just my thoughts,PEACE OUTJ
