The fallacy of the "We Can't Override The Veto" argument

While it's true that along party lines, the Democrats don't have the votes to overcome a veto, as Jeff Morris pointed out, that does not mean the congress has to roll over and give the president everything he wants. The congressional leadership has a habit of just throwing up their hands and claim they can't override the veto and give the president eveything he wants so they can pont fingers at election time and blame it on the president, hoping to help get the nominee elected. This is irresponsible to the country. They may not have the votes for an override, but they can pass the laws they want. We need some gumption in our leaders so they start passing legislation to help the country now.For all our sakes
