protest ABC local station

ABC is admitting that their own showing of "The Path to 9/11" is steeped in controversy, but not everyone who is not a political or news junkie is really aware of the political drama behind this "docudrama." So it might be wise to keep the pressure on ABC even after its hyped up show.

For a local avenue of protest, WPLG local 10 has been running reports about the controversy about this show on the 6:30 news, at least there was one report, and if there is still enough outcry they may do more.

When I called Channel 10 on Sunday to ask if the show was still to run, and to voice my objections, I was referred to Terrell Forney, a reporter working on the controversy story. He was soliciting opinions for the 6:30 news broadcast and wanted to interview on camera if possible anyone upset about this showing. Since it was short notice at that time, I told him about the Soya & Pomodoro gathering after the Freedom Torch event, where I thought he would find lots of people to talk about it.

Whether the station sent anyone there I don't know, but if we keep up the complaints after the show as much as beforehand, they may report it further. At least Terrell seemed receptive to our input.

So if you want to voice your opinion to the local press, and the affiliate of the network involved (the affiliates certainly weren't helped by this showing either, in my opinion), you can call the channel 10 newsroom at (954) 763-4577 and ask for Terrell Fornay. (Or if you prefer to write, go to www.local10.com/contact/index.ht... and send a note).

Who knows, they might at least take it onto their website if not more coverage on broadcast news. If ABC insists on this corporate stage, at least we can make our make our objections public as well, to let the public know that not everyone takes this story as if it were an accurate version of history.
