TBRC Volunteer Bulletin 7/7/08

July 12 - Help Turn Northern California Blue

As the presidential campaign heats up, don’t forget about Congress!

Democrats Charlie Brown, Jerry McNerney, and Bill Durston are running in “red” districts, and all three of these great candidates face tough campaigns. To shore up a Democratic Congressional majority—and to ensure that our next Congress does NOT include Republicans Tom McClintock, Dean Andal, or Dan Lungren—please join us in volunteering now!

The Brown and McNerney campaigns are each sponsoring a “Day of Action” this coming Saturday, July 12. Take Back Red California will be organizing carpools of volunteers for precinct walking and voter registration. Join Democratic activists in CD 4 and CD 11, and get to know your state. Round up a few friends and make a day of it—it’s time well spent!

The details are below, along with schedules for the rest of the summer.

(Details to follow soon about volunteering for Bill Durston.)

Help Elect Charlie Brown

Canvassing and phoning beginning at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12

TBRC is organizing carpools to the Roseville campaign office, at 332 Lincoln. There’s also activity scheduled at the Placerville, Oroville, and Grass Valley offices as well as in Auburn and Lincoln.

Contact Mary Renaud, maryre[dot]comcast[dot]net, 415-460-1571, for carpool or other information. Or contact Nick Panagopoulos at nickp[at]charliebrownforcongress[dot]org, 916-671-0935.

Future “Days of Action” for the Brown campaign:
 Saturday, August 16
 Saturday, September 6
 Saturday, September 27
 Saturday, October 4
 Saturday, October 18

Sign up now! Consider making a weekend of it—CD 4 includes beautiful scenic regions. The campaign plans activities in Auburn, Lincoln, Truckee, and other areas as well as at the four offices throughout the summer. Contact Mary for more information.

Help Reelect Jerry McNerney

Canvassing beginning at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12

TBRC is organizing carpools to the Dublin campaign office, at 6390
Village Parkway.

- Geographically speaking it's more red than blue. And slowly becoming a swing state.

- Narrow focus

I am concerned about the number of posts on the main blog whose only interest is to a very narrow regional or even city level.  Main posts should have national or international import.

- These are three candidates running for national office.

Two of them are DFA All Star winners.   If you live in a gerrymandered 'safe' blue area of the country please think about volunteering a weekend of your time to help out on their campaigns.
