I am music buff, fanatic whatever you may call it, i enjoy all genres and at an early age played piano and percussions. Believe it or not gardening is my passion and a way for me to relex after a busy work week.

About Me:

Living in Jacksonville for the majority of my life, attending public schools, and later attending Alabama State University, majoring in Business Management, realized my love for my city. We moved to Jacksonville at the time, when the city was dealing with a lot of environmental issues. This is when my civic interest sparked, writing a thesis in high school in regards to these issues, thinking outside the box. This thinking outside the box lead me to owning/operating this regions top urban marketing/promotions company for music. Voted in 2006 by The Florida Times Union First Business as a "Change Agent" one who thinks outside the box and whom has contributed to the growth of Jacksonville business. I've always taken a personal interest in my community by serving and assuming lead roles for important organizations. Jacksonville is my home; I have a lovely wife of 17 years and wonderful young men to raise here. As Soil & Water Group 3 Supervisor, I will conserve, protect, and enhance the soil and water resources of Duval County. I will provide leadership, education and assistance to all residents. A proud member of the Soil & Water Conservation Society (SWCS) will enable me to address issues of magnitude such as soil disturbance in urbanized areas that construction sites create. I am willing to address changes needed for not just my kid's future but all our kids. Vote Derek R Washington for that needed change on November 4th
