Hello!

Hello!

I'm Kate, and I'm interning at DFA Headquaters this summer. In the fall, I'll start my junior year at Knox College in Illinois where I am double majoring in History and Political Science. I decided to intern at DFA this summer because I am very interested in the grassroots approach to politics. Like a lot of young people, I was very inspired by Barack's campaign and did some canvassing and phonebanking for him. I even made it to the inauguration on a last minute road trip with some friends. It was an amazing, engaging experience.

I'm also involved in politics with some of my campus activites. I'm a member of SASS, the feminist organization on campus, and my roommate and I write a feminist, political blog and host a radio show for the school radio station. I've also co-founded a youth mentorship program near my school, which is just getting off the ground.

I look forward to learning a lot this summer and meeting new people.
