WOW! What a phone call!

Today I got an exciting phone call from someone you all are familiar with - Jim Dean.

I was pretty shocked yesterday when I came home and mom told me that he had called.  And  he called again to make sure he actually spoke with me.

I called to thank me for running for public office.  He reiterated the notion that "all politics is local" and no matter how up-hill the battle might be (two to one Republican enrollment advantage in this district) we still have to try.

We spoke about single-payer health care and the public option.

He asked me if I would run again.

But most importantly, he thanked me for running.

DFA trained me, endorsed me and sent me grant money. So I feel it is I who should be thanking him and DFA - and I did.

But it was a wonderful feeling to have him call me personally and thank me for just giving it a shot.
