American Jobs

I am committed to economic prosperity in our country. As a small business owner I understand small businesses create more than 70% of the jobs in our country. The Bush tax cut did very little for most small businesses. The tax burden businesses in our country face are killing jobs. We are taxing our greatest resources for job creation out of business. We must level the playing field so we can give small business the chance to create the jobs in our community. We must reduce self-employment taxes so small businesses can compete and create jobs in this country right now.

We can attract industries with quality paying jobs to our communities. The manufacturing industry is a good source of these jobs. We cannot continue to stand by and do nothing, while these jobs are being shipped to China, Central and South America. Washington, D.C. was wrong when they said, we were moving to a service-based economy and we did not need manufacturing jobs. Now that of call centers are opening at record levels overseas, and thousands of American service jobs are going to India, it is quite clear our free trade policy does not work. Free trade is not free. It is costing jobs in our communities. We cannot continue shipping our jobs overseas. We must address this issue in order to keep jobs in our country. We must also commit the capital needed to improve our infrastructure in order to build a strong manufacturing base throughout this nation and attract quality paying jobs to our communities. I am committed to working to protect American service jobs, rebuild our manufacturing industry and restore the label "Made in the USA." Families must be able to do more than survive financially; they must be allowed to prosper. We must restore the promise of The American Dream for the next generation.
