Time to take off the mask

You and I both know that the health insurance industry's first priority is profits.

If we've made it clear we want the health insurance companies out of the debate, then why are groups that claim to be "non-partisan" like The Lewin Group continuing to mislead Americans with false information about healthcare reform?

In case you haven't heard of them, The Lewin Group is a research firm owned entirely by UnitedHealth, one of the largest health insurance companies in the country. Countless Republicans, including Virginia's own Eric Cantor (R-VA), have taken tens of thousands of dollars from UnitedHealth and referred to the group as providing "independent analysis."

The Lewin Group produces documents that back up the requests of what paying clients want to see, and then tell Congressional Committees they provide "independent, objective and nonpartisan analyses of policy options."

How can any firm owned entirely by a top health insurance company claim to be independent and objective in their analysis?
