Matthew Metz

I am a sophomore at Kenyon College pursuing a major in political science and with a public policy concentration. It is my intention to go to graduate school and enter a joint JD/ masters in public policy program.

I first got actively involved in politics at DFA by making calls for Barack Obama. I have a wide range of experience in politics including volunteering for DFA, the Vermont and Ohio Democratic Parties, interning in the political department at DFA in the summer of 2010 and serving as an extern in the Washington D.C. office of Congressman Steve Israel.

Of current, as a DFA organizer I have become involved in organizing voters to pass the Mount Vernon City Schools levy on May 3rd and prevent the passage of H.B. 159 (voter suppression bill). In addition, I have been participating in strategy sessions at the Knox County Democratic Party.
