State Senate, Legislative District 11
JoAnna is a native Arizonan, born and raised in Pinal County. She comes from a family of farmworkers and worked in the cotton fields, starting at a young age, until she was sixteen. At the age of seventeen, she answered the call to serve our great nation and joined the military.
She has been forward deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, made Marines and Marine Officers as a Drill Instructor, and led hundreds throughout her military career. After twenty years of honorable service, JoAnna retired from the Marine Corps and made her way back home to Arizona with her son.
As a retired Marine, someone who fought to uphold and protect our American values, JoAnna believes the only way to change the system is to be the change. Children deserve a future that is free from hatred, injustice, and racism. She’s running because she truly believes that it’s time to elect leaders who will put country over politics. She knows that she can bring positive change and improve people’s live in the district in which she grew up in.
JoAnna’s mission is to ensure that District 11 has communities that are safe and thriving. Her first order of business, as State Senator, will be to transform the existing government into the responsive actor that the district needs.
Everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed. Our nation’s success is built on the founding principles of unlimited opportunity, quality education, commitment to hard work, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. JoAnna fought to protect these liberties, as a United States Marine, and will continue to fight for them each and every day to ensure that our communities are advancing towards meeting these founding principles.
