VICTORY: DFA thrilled by Joe Neguse’s trail-blazing House win in Colorado’s 2nd
Joe Neguse (CO-2) just won his race for Congress in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District, helping make him the Mile High State's first Black member of Congress.
DFA Chair Jim Dean on Joe Neguse's history-making win in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District:
"Voters in Colorado's Second District have a history of trail-blazing picks for the U.S. House, and tonight's election of Joe Neguse, making him Colorado's first Black member of Congress, is no exception.
"Democracy for America was honored to stand with Joe Neguse early on his race for Congress because we knew that he'd be an unbridled champion for big, bold inclusive populist reforms like Medicare for All, comprehensive gun violence prevention legislation, and a $15 minimum wage.
"At the same time, in the face of the unrelenting assault on our country's core progressive values, its more important than ever to have young leaders of color like Joe in the halls of Congress As a millennial, person of color, and the son of immigrants, Joe Neguse will help bring a critical, missing lens to Colorado's congressional delegation that the entire country will be well served by having." -- Jim Dean, Chair, Democracy for America
